Paintballers Set Sights on Fund-raising 12.03.09 Sharpshooting
fund-raisers are on target to help build a school for poverty-stricken youngsters
in Malawi. Massive Attack Paintball in Seaton, County
Durham, hosted a charity game to raise funds for teenager Grant Edmundson as he
embarks on a school aid trip to the African country. Grant,
one of the marshals at the paintball site, is one of a team of Sunderland High
School pupils who will be travelling to Malawi to build a school for local children. A
spokeswoman from Massive Attack said: "We are proud of his efforts and have
pledged all the profits of this charity Massive Attack Paintball event to cover
the costs of his trip, plus sponsor his work and that of his team in Malawi. "The
building of the school will give the children there a better quality of life by
helping them achieve their full potential through education, something we all
take for granted. "It is a small sacrifice
on our part and that of the aid working group from Sunderland High School, but
the impact on the young people in Malawi will be huge, lasting and life-changing." |
